Hello Day 2! I was still on jetlag and the day started with again, a gloomy, windy, rainy weather. Believe me, underneath that famous naughty grin that I have, is one frozen body.
I prepared myself for the weather with an inner long sleeve heat tech shirt, an inner shirt, an outer shirt, my wool jacket and another wool poncho/shawl. I also wore winter leggings underneath my jeans with a pair of boots over. Wow, since when did I wear this much? I am more like the “don’t worry, I can take the cold” type of person.

Weather sucked! It was raining the whole day but we still managed to get by with our little umbrellas.

The traveller’s rant – I will never take a noon flight again to Europe from Asia, I usually take the night flight but for some reason I booked a noon flight instead this time. It was very difficult to sleep during the flight when most of the lights were not dimmed to reflect the correct environment at destination. We arrived London 8pm.
During the non-sleeping hours, I was able to catch up on Suvivor 23 – Redemption Island (the Harvard dude is so clueless) on my Galaxy Note while Sel watched 4 in-flight movies and was constantly eating even if he just had his pre-boarding brunch (breakfast waffles above) at his “favourite” outlet at Changi Terminal 3 - The Coffee Club.

Light lunch at Kith Cafe overlooking the *ahem* brown Singapore River at Robertson Quay.
An area with an increasing popularity amongst the expat community. A good place to hangout for friends and families alike. Kids on their scooters, babies on their prams and dogs parading out in the sun are your typical weekend sights. And guess what? one of my favourite thing to do is people watching and a good place to do this is at Kith’s.

Our latest coffee adventure lead us to this newly opened, Strangers Reunion, a quaint little cafe along Kampung Bahru Road. Both Selwyn & I enjoyed our first visit so much that we’ve decided to go back just 2 days after the first.
You know you’ve reached the right place once you hit a panel of white-coloured distressed doors, parked with a blue deconstructed easel by the sidewalk. The blue easel doubles up as a placeholder for the cafe signage and the menu.

I will never claim that I am a coffee connoisseur nor someone who loves coffee since I am not a big fan of it’s taste (not to disrespect those who do – like Selwyn) but I’d like to see myself as a good judge of the perfect ambiance. To me, the perfect coffee or tea experience can only be achieved when complemented with the perfect setting (among many other things ofcourse).
We went to Papa Palheta yesterday just before church and I must say, I was impressed the moment I walked into the door.

Hainanese Chicken Rice is often known as Singapore’s national dish and is a favourite among locals and tourists alike. The popularity of this dish gave birth to the country’s national past time – the debate on where to find the best chicken rice in Singapore and why.
Last night, we decided to try the chicken rice stall that was featured on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, Singapore Series – Tian Tian Chicken Rice at the Maxwell Food Centre.

The Chicken Burger
Schnipper’s is the Home of the Sloppy Joe Throwdown (2009) on Food Network’s Bobby Flay Throwdown series and guess what?…it is also conveniently located outside Hanna’s (lil sister) regular church in New York. So, we decided to pop in for a quick dinner just before night service starts.
There were no sloppy joes on our table that night but instead we opted for the less-sinful choice – but equally as unhealthy.

We have been frequenting Loysel’s Toy Cafe for a few weeks now and during which I have identified the reasons why we kept on going back and why we had wished that we didn’t, almost every time.
