W Hotel Kitchen Hong Kong Buffet

Located inside the W Hotel in Hong Kong is the Kitchen. The Kitchen is a modern bistro that serves a wonderful buffet and an international and Pan-Asian à la carte menu.

I am not a big fan of buffets but just being inside the W Hotel was an experience all together. Sel had a go on their dinner buffet while I, tried the Carbonara, Kitchen’s house specialty, and for some, the Best Carbonara in Hong Kong.

Inside the dining room, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Hong Kong Harbour.

The sun was about to go down when we arrived for dinner so the window rollers were up for the diners to enjoy the sea view (except for the cranes).

The whimsical décor around the buffet bar.

I really like the contemporary furniture, it is sleek, stylish and still elegant.

The buffet items include everything that you could possibly think of (except abalone & shark’s fins)well atleast for me.

Cold seafood, lobster claws, crayfish, Canadian snow crab, Boston lobsters, Peking duck, roast beef, lamb, steamed fish, hot dishes, dimsum & a wide variety of desserts – to name a few.

The buffet was extraordinarily good from the cold dishes to the hot items to the desserts. It is one of the best buffet that we have had so far. Dinner buffet was at HKD498 (excluding tax) per person.

I ordered the famous Carbonara Tagliatelle with Pancetta (HKD 190) from the à la carte menu.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was light and creamy and the seasoning was just right, and with the pancetta, the dish was even better.

We were also served with a freshly baked walnut bread. I did not even need the olive oil to appreciate it. I was yummy! At that moment, I wished my mom was with us, she could just sit there and eat the bread and be happy, especially since she particularly loves walnut breads. Too bad, next trip then.

One highlight of the evening was this “Like” cupcake.
I love the concept but it felt bad eating the “like” sign.

This is us. Sel looks bloated and happy.

Now, who is tired? Tired of eating…
