We have been talking about visiting Tim Ho Wan (The cheapest 1 Michelin Star Restaurant in HKG) since 2 trips ago but because of our tight schedules and the usual long Qs especially in their Mongkok branch, we decided to forgo the experience until now.
Selwyn found out that there is a new branch inside the IFC Mall, just below the Airport City Check-in so we decided to gamble and just go for it. Anyway, worst comes to worst, we have other food options in mind within the vicinity.

It was supposedly our last brunch meal in Hong Kong and we had only a few hours to spare so together with us were our luggage. Tim Ho Wan (IFC Mall) occupies a tiny space and we had to share tables with other people, it’s good that had an area to keep our bags.
People started coming immediately after we were seated. Lucky us!
On Our Table
…was out usual dimsum favouritres…

The Siew Mai

The Har Gow

The Beef Balls

Fried Raddish Cake

Shrimp Cheong Fun

Our orders just kept on coming, minutes after we ordered – we had to be fast enough to make space.
People from the Q outside were quietly staring at people inside the dining hall. It was quite stressful for me (I don’t think the boys really cared to begin with) until I decided to just ignore them completely.
Apart from our usual favourites, we also tried Tim Ho Wan’s famous Crispy Pork Bun. It eventually became the highlight of our experience. It was so good that we had to order another set.

The Crispy Pork Bun

Served hot, fresh from the oven – crispy pastry on the outside with hot char siew inside.
It was really yummy and is one of my MUST TRY item if ever you are visiting Tim Ho Wan.

HA! It tasted even better the second time…

Overall the food was good except for the Cheong Fun, we felt that the skin was too thick and was chewy, making it very hard to eat and swallow. There was nothing special with the sauce too, it was just plain soya sauce unlike the ones served at Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop which is much much better.
