Although it was sad to see the chaos that Hurricane Sandy had left NYC with, we still manage to make do with whatever we have and went out to celebrate dad & mom’s birthday – dad’s first then mom’s (their birthdays are only 1 day apart).

After Hurricane Sandy; Dad & Mom’s Birthday.
At about 9pm, just minutes before Hurricane Sandy hit the city, they cut off our power and water supply. We were caught off guard as we thought our apartment was part of the safe zone but apparently not. Even our mobile phones did not have any service – which means no 3G too!

Most of the TV channels have been broadcasting about the hurricane of the century – Hurricane Sandy coming our way by Monday evening as early as Saturday morning. So on Sunday, we decided to go for an early church service, had a quick lunch and headed back home before sunset.
Singapore to New York – more than 24hours of travelling time but it is sooo worth it! We arrived and my sister was waiting for us in her iPod at Grand Central, her first few sentences after saying hello to us included…“Let’s go Chatime!” and so we went after a quick shower.
Mom and I were in New York a few weeks ago to visit my little sister – 2 weeks have gone past too quick and I reckon the trip was too short. The trip was packed with good memories shared between the three of us.
It’s cold and it’s freezing but I am really enjoying my vacation here in NYC. Getting to spend quality time with both my sister and mother is something I look forward to everyday of this trip.
