Saveur is a small French bistro along Purvis Street (near The Raffles Hotel) that serves cheap casual French food. Attracting the younger crowd, expect a longer than usual line especially during dinner time. We waited at least 30mins to get a table on a weeknight.
The Angel Hair Pasta with Tiger Prawns & Lumpfish Caviar (above) is priced at S$6.90, something quite affordable (& comparable to a high end food court pricing) considering the description of the dish on the menu. Taste-wise it was just normal, something you would not want to complain considering the cheap price tag. Portions are quite small too, and in this case, the tiger prawns looks like shrimps and the caviar tasted like… err…
I think you get what I mean and my comments stay consistently the same throughout the next few dishes that came out.

Duck Confit with Orange Segments and Sauté Shitake (S$8.90)

Pistachio Panna Cotta (S$6.90)
If you are just after some fancy dish names, the pseudo feeling of fine dining (small portions) & the feeling of dinning in a French restaurant for a very affordable price, then this place is something worth trying – atleast once. But don’t bother if you understand the real thang! and I am not even talking about fine dining quality. If you are feeling some casual French, head down to the French Stall at Serangoon Road, it is definitely a better option, for just a tad higher price.
