We just came back home from an early brunch at The Plain Cafe (Craig Road, Tanjong Pagar area), shopping at Orchard Road and a Bak Chor Mee afternoon mirienda (snack) at the ION foodcourt.

My cousin Anton is here for 2 weekends and is going back to Guangzhou tomorrow – this means last minute errands and shopping, so starting the day early seems very appropriate.
Last night, we all agreed to have brunch somewhere we all have not been to – The Plain Cafe. My high school classmate and Ton’s former flatmate, Jen also came to join us for a quick catch up session with our dear “tourist”.

All the seats at the main dining hall was full when we arrived, so we were offered to be seated in a more private area.

The three musketeers enjoying the privacy.
It sucks cause the aircon was not working in our area and we had to breathe in the air from the main hall which, I feel defeats the whole privacy chuva!

Today, I went out wearing my World Wrestling (WWE) Championship belt.

Obviously, our food took a while before it came out.

Sel, Ton & Jen each ordered the Darling’s Eggs (Poached eggs with ham, cheese & roma tomatoes on sourdough toast).

I had the Turkey, Avocado & Rocket on Ciabatta Bread. I enjoyed the bread more than the rest.

Mocha (Anton’s)

Flat White Soy Milk (Mine)

Cappuccino (Sel’s First Cup)

Piccolo Latte (Sel’s Second Cup)

Hot Chocolate (Jen’s)
The food was overall okay, nothing fancy and was rather “Plain”. The coffees were good especially the Mocha, the option to change the milk to soy was a good bonus as I prefer having soy rather than cow’s milk. Ambiance was ok except for the poor sound acoustics – it was hard to talk because of the noise – very similar to a Chinese restaurant, way too stressful especially on a Saturday morning.
I am ending this post now, I am rushing to join the boys watch Adele’s Royal Albert Hall concert before we go for dinner. Ciao!
